WebJul 26, 2009 · Aluminum stem is fine. I use carbon paste to increase friction/less torque required to hold bars. Not a necessity, but it helps. Be sure to use a torque wrench if you are inexperienced and follow the proper bolt tightening procedure as stated by the manufacturer.
