WebHugh Green was born in Raphoe, Co. Donegal, in 1931. He settled in New Zealand and started the firm, Green & McCahill. He subsequently moved into property development and in his later years set up the major charitable foundation that bears his name. All the while, he continued to indulge in his first love; cattle dealing. The Green and McCahill interests separated in 2002 and the fifty companies owned by Hugh became known as the Hugh Green Group.
