WebJul 11, 2024 · Please go to 'Options' > 'Ease of access', then uncheck 'Provide feedback with sound' that you were looking for, (I also unchecked 'Provide feedback with animation', just in case), and it should disable the sounds when you open or save a document (same for Excel). I didn't have to restart Word/Excel for the sounds to stop. Hope it helps :-)
