YOUTH -Click here to see our calendar!
It’s pretty strange for a church’s student ministry to simply be called YOUTH. After all, it’s no catchy phrase or acronym… it simply states what our ministry consists of – youth. There’s a reason for that.
The title “YOUTH” is straight to the point and characterizes exactly what we wish to be as a student ministry: Inclusive.
"YOUTH" is not an acronym, nor does it have any double meaning or flashy vocabulary. The word youth means nothing more than to simply be young. It's a name that includes everyone... regardless of their background, race, spiritual maturity or any other classification teenagers may face today. In our time and community, this message is especially crucial for the Kingdom of God!
Simply put, we want “YOUTH” to be an all inclusive opportunity for teens to come together and learn what it truly means to live and love like Jesus… nothing more, nothing less.
To make it easier, we simply call our group the East Win Youth.
WHAT IS "YOUTH"?
YOUTH is the youth ministry of East Win Christian Church. We exist to empower students, grades sixth through twelfth, to manifest the mission statement of East Win Christian Church in their lives in accessible and relevant ways. As a church, East Win aims to equip its members to grow in relationship with God, in community with the Church, and on mission in our world. As a student ministry, we aim to do that with YOUTH – the Wednesday night ministry of East Win Youth, Get Togethers – fun events every month that encourage relationship building and friendship, and #EastWinServes – our monthly outreach opportunities.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT SERVICE
Wednesday nights are the “bread and butter” of the East Win Youth. This is the biggest service of the week. A typical Wednesday night has dinner, a game of some sort, small group time (divided by gender, sometimes grade) and a message that wraps it all up. We meet each week in the multi-purpose building from 6-8 p.m.
Sunday school is East Win Youth’s other weekly service. It is much more laid back and casual than the Wednesday night service. Currently Sunday School splits by gender, with the guys class being taught by Jeremy and the girls taught by one of our adult volunteers. However, we are always looking for new Sunday school teachers! This is a great opportunity to really dive in and get to know the teens. Please don’t hesitate if you’d like to start teaching. We meet each Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m.
Get Togethers are East Win Youth’s fun events. The thing about Get Togethers is that they are simply to build relationships and grow in community – there are no lessons, no altar calls, no jobs to do, etc. They are just fun! As you can imagine, our Get Togethers are attended by quite a few visitors.
