Jeff Whitlock

Sr. Minister

Jeff was born and raised in New Salem, Pennsylvania. (Go Steelers!!!) He graduated from Penn State University in 1977 with a teaching degree in Special Education and Physical Education. After teaching special needs children for 2 1/2 years, Jeff went to Johnson University and graduated in May of 1981 with a degree in Preaching and Bible.

While at Johnson, Jeff met the love of his life; his wife Julie. After graduation, they began their first ministry at the delightful Fairlawn Church of Christ in Galax, Virginia. Jeff and Julie then took a step of faith and lead a new church plant in 1987 called East Win Christian Church. It has been their joy and pleasure to watch God work in and through the ministry of East Win to change lives and connect people to Jesus Christ.

About his role as Sr. Minister, Jeff responds, "I will always do my very best to continue the world-changing and life-changing ministry of Jesus Christ. His ministry will only be accomplished through His power, His grace, and His Spirit. I humbly ask you to pray that God will continue to pour His Spirit upon me and everyone here at East Win."

Dave Lewellen

Dave Lewellen has been the Worship Minister at East Win since 1994. He has had the privilege of overseeing other ministries over the years including Small Groups, Sunday School, and Athletics. He also enjoys volunteering in other exciting ministries like VBS, Children’s Camp, Drive Thru Prayer, and the outreach ministry to Southwind Elementary School.

After graduating from Cincinnati Bible College in 1984, Dave served for 9 years as the Preaching Minister at Hebron Church of Christ in Kentucky. He is married to Kathy Lewellen and they have a wonderful daughter; Katelyn and son-in-law, Chase Hairston.

Laurie Heath

Director of Children's Ministry

Laurie has been serving in the Children's Ministry at East Win since 1999. She started out working part-time as the infant through pre-school director. In 2001 she began working full-time as the Director of Children's Ministry, which encompasses infants through 5th graders.

She has a love for all children, and she wants each and every one of them to know that Jesus loves them and has a special plan for their life.

Laurie is married to Jimmie, the man who caught her eye and captured her heart. She enjoys reading and spending time with her family. Laurie and Jimmie are the blessed parents of four wonderful children; Josh (married to Nikki), Karleigh, Marissa, and D.J. They have also been blessed with a precious grandson, Dallas and granddaughter, Addyson.

Jeremy Griffin

Youth Minister

When not ministering at East Win Christian Church, Jeremy Griffin is a Bachelor of Christian Leadership student at Mid-South Christian College, serving on student council and assisting in recruiting efforts. His heart for ministry comes from a long family line of Kingdom Workers – with two grandfathers, his father, two uncles, and an older brother who have all served in ministry. As a child, his parents served in Montevideo, Uruguay as missionaries and church planters, though most of his life he has been in Memphis. (Go Grizzlies!) In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his fiancé Kendall McKee and being involved in the local Memphis music scene. He takes pride in his ability to create the ultimate Christian rap playlist and the fact that he gets to serve the youth group he grew up attending.
